Meet Jim
Jim Huggins serves as a Partner at McChrystal Group leading business development, operations, and client team execution. Additionally, Jim oversees strategy and leadership development services to Fortune 500 companies and beyond in energy and distribution, healthcare, IT, higher education, government, and other sectors.
What did you do before joining McChrystal Group?
I retired from the US Army after 35 years of service, seven combat tours of duty, and as Chief Operating Officer of the United States Army. In that position, I served as the principal advisor to the Secretary of the Army on Joint Service, National Security Council, and the politico-military aspects of international affairs. I directed the resourcing, restructuring, and budget execution for 1.1 million soldiers, 330,000 civilians, and a $170 billion budget. From 2010 to 2012, I served as the Commanding General of the 82nd Airborne Division and NATO Regional Command South (Kandahar) Afghanistan.
Why did you join McChrystal Group?
After a military career and being the son of a soldier growing up, I wanted to do something very different and develop skills outside of the defense industry. McChrystal Group is the perfect fit as we work with a variety of clients in various industries faced with complex leadership challenges in a rapidly changing environment.
What has been your proudest moment at McChrystal Group?
My proudest moment is seeing my teammates being promoted and recognized for their contributions to our clients.
