Meet Brian

Brian Driscoll is a Partner at McChrystal Group, where he advises senior leaders on crisis response, organizational performance, and leadership in high‑stakes environments. He brings more than two decades of experience from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the national security community, specializing in leading complex operations under pressure and aligning teams to execute in moments that matter most.

Prior to joining McChrystal Group, Brian served in senior leadership roles at the FBI, most recently as Assistant Director and Executive Lead of the Bureau’s Critical Incident Response Group. In this role, he oversaw the FBI’s special operations and crisis response capabilities, including tactical, negotiation, and operational deployment functions. He also served as Commander of the FBI’s Hostage Rescue Team, leading national‑level tactical operations and earning the FBI Medal of Valor and Shield of Bravery for actions under fire.

Earlier in his career, Brian held leadership positions as Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the New York Field Office and Special Agent in Charge of the Newark Field Office. He began his FBI service as a Special Agent in New York, working organized crime investigations and serving on the SWAT team. Today, he applies his operational and leadership experience to help organizations build resilience, improve decision‑making, and lead effectively in dynamic, high‑risk environments.

Brian holds a bachelor’s degree from Villanova University and a master’s degree in public policy and international relations from Pepperdine University. He also serves as a Senior Fellow at Yale University’s Jackson School of Global Affairs.
