WHAT DID YOU DO BEFORE JOINING MCCHRYSTAL GROUP?
Before joining McChrystal Group, I built a career in market research, higher education, and communication. Most recently, I served as a Research Services Project Manager at C5i, contracted to AARP, where I partnered with internal clients to manage qualitative and quantitative research programs and ensure deliverables met organizational standards and objectives. I also held research leadership roles at Hanover Research and All Global, leading studies across healthcare, technology, education, finance, and nonprofit sectors. In addition, I have spent over half a decade teaching public speaking and communication courses as an Adjunct Professor.
WHY DID YOU JOIN MCCHRYSTAL GROUP?
McChrystal Group offered the opportunity to apply my passion for learning and development in a mission-driven environment. I was drawn to the organization's commitment to helping leaders and teams thrive, as well as the chance to make a meaningful impact.
WHAT SPORT OR HOBBY DO YOU HAVE OUTSIDE OF WORK?
Outside of work, I am an avid runner and former collegiate athlete. I've completed the Boston Marathon, Marine Corps Marathon, and several half marathons. I also enjoy traveling, reading, trying new recipes, and tending to my garden. When I'm not training for a race or planning my next trip, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our dachshund, Stanlee.
WHY ARE YOU PASSIONATE ABOUT LEADERS & TEAMS?
My passion for leaders and teams began at Christopher Newport University through the President's Leadership Program and a minor in Leadership Studies. Growing up, I was also involved in a variety of athletic, social, and professional teams, including competing as a collegiate runner. Those experiences taught me the value of trust, communication, and shared purpose. As an educator, researcher, and now learning designer, I've continued to see how strong leadership and effective teamwork enable people to achieve more together.
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE BOOKS?
Besides Team of Teams, you'll usually find me reading beach reads, thrillers, and memoirs. Some of my favorite authors include Kristin Hannah, Taylor Jenkins Reid, and Abby Jimenez. My Goodreads "Want to Read" list grows much faster than I can actually finish books, but I'm always looking for my next great recommendation.
