Heather Maki
Meet Heather
Heather Maki is a Senior Advisor at McChrystal Group and a retired U.S. Army Colonel. She served for more than 28 years in progressively senior leadership roles. Throughout her career, she advised senior executives, led large, multidisciplinary organizations, and guided strategic initiatives in some of the world's most dynamic and demanding environments.
Most recently, Heather culminated her service as a trusted senior executive advisor, providing strategic counsel to executive leadership overseeing a 70,000-person global workforce. In this role, she supported enterprise strategy, facilitated executive decision-making, aligned diverse stakeholder interests and supported engagement with Congress, senior government officials, and external partners.
Heather’s career spans Army Aviation, Special Operations, and Intelligence. She led multiple organizations responsible for mission execution, workforce development, organizational readiness, and culture. She led geographically dispersed organizations in dynamic and high-accountability environments, managing multimillion-dollar resources while driving performance improvement and organizational effectiveness. Heather served in assignments throughout the United States, Europe, Asia, Africa, and South America.
She holds a Master of Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College, Master of International Relations from Webster’s University, and a Bachelor of Arts from the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University.
